Neste laboratório, mulheres residentes numa casa de abrigo (ASM, Évora) realizaram performances curtas inspiradas no texto abaixo, enquanto sobreviventes de violência doméstica. Estas ações foram filmadas por estudantes do Mestrado em Práticas Artísticas em Artes Visuais, a partir de um texto inspirado no cartaz icónico do artista norte-americano Keith Haring (1958–1990), "Ignorance = Fear" (1989), produzido no contexto da crise da SIDA e das respostas sociais e políticas à homofobia.
Ao longo dos laboratórios, reconhecendo o corpo como lugar central da experiência da violência, a expressão performativa constituiu-se como meio de comunicação das vivências e processos de sobrevivência das participantes. Estas experiências envolveram sentimentos de solidão, isolamento, medo, desespero, raiva, angústia e vergonha, mas também de esperança, alegria e satisfação, transformando-se numa experiência partilhada em contexto coletivo. Posteriormente, os estudantes editaram o vídeo, que viria a ser utilizado pela Câmara Municipal de Évora (CME) para assinalar o dia 25 de novembro, "Dia Internacional para a Eliminação da Violência Contra as Mulheres".
In this workshop, women living in a shelter performed short pieces inspired by the text below, as survivors of domestic violence. These actions were filmed by students from the Master's in Artistic Practices in Visual Arts, based on a text influenced by the iconic poster by American artist Keith Haring (1958–1990), "Ignorance = Fear" (1989), produced in the context of the AIDS crisis and the social and political responses to homophobia.
Throughout the workshops, recognizing the body as the central site of the experience of violence, performative expression served as a means of communicating the participants lived experiences and survival processes. These experiences involved feelings of loneliness, isolation, fear, despair, anger, anguish, and shame, but also of hope, joy, and fulfilment, becoming a shared experience within a collective context. Subsequently, the students edited the video, which was used by the Évora City Council to mark 25 November, "the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women".
