IMAGENS DA EXPOSIÇÃO / EXHIBITION IMAGES
Esta exposição reúne trabalhos de estudantes no âmbito do Cabaz Digital: Laboratórios Multimédia pela Igualdade de Género, um projeto de investigação em artes (arts-based research) do Centro de História de Arte e Investigação Artística da Universidade de Évora (UÉ), que articula género, investigação e ensino. Participam estudantes do Departamento de Artes Visuais e Design da Escola de Artes da UÉ, bem como de escolas parceiras, como a Escola Secundária de Montemor-o-Novo e a Escola Secundária Gabriel Pereira, num espaço onde aprendizagem, pensamento e criação se cruzam.
Este projeto articula arte multimédia, investigação e ensino, a partir de uma perspetiva feminista, inclusiva e interseccional, em alinhamento com as estratégias europeias para a igualdade de género e a transição digital. O ensino configura-se como eixo estruturante, não apenas enquanto transmissão de conhecimento, mas como desenvolvimento de contextos pedagógicos críticos, participativos e experimentais, orientados para a reflexão, a criação e a ação. Através de práticas artísticas colaborativas, a criação constitui-se como espaço de escuta, análise e transformação, no qual a igualdade de género, a prevenção da violência e a capacitação digital são abordadas enquanto processos contínuos e interdependentes. Neste enquadramento, o ensino em artes afirma-se como domínio de investigação e produção de conhecimento, promovendo a articulação entre saberes, experiências e contextos situados, em estreita relação com a comunidade. Entre a universidade, as escolas e a sociedade, constroem-se redes de colaboração onde a criação circula, se partilha e se prolonga para além da exposição.
Os laboratórios aqui apresentados exploram a arte como ferramenta crítica de investigação, tornando visíveis estruturas de desigualdade e abrindo espaço para pensar e ensaiar formas mais justas, igualitárias e não violentas de convivência. Em LAB 01 / Coisas lá de casa são de tod@s nós e LAB 02 / Não é coisa de menin@, o doméstico é ressignificado: objetos, gestos e imagens do dia-a-dia tornam-se matéria de questionamento dos estereótipos de género e das formas invisíveis de violência. Em LAB 05 / Vias de Trânsito pela Igualdade de Género, LAB 06 / Degraus para a Igualdade e LAB 07 / Na escola só o coração é que bate, a imagem e o som saem da escola para a rua, ocupando o espaço comum através de sinais, palavras e intervenções que convocam atenção, consciência e reflexão no espaço coletivo e na comunidade. O LAB 08 / Um mural e receitas de arte pela paz convoca a criação coletiva como gesto de encontro, onde a arte se torna construção partilhada de paz e de cuidado. O LAB 09 / Traços e ecos das pioneiras da media art faz ressoar vozes e imagens de mulheres artistas pioneiras, onde corpo, som e tecnologia se cruzam e se prolongam em práticas interativas, abrindo espaço à participação e à experiência.
Este projeto afirma também uma confiança ativa nas gerações mais jovens, cuja capacidade de reflexão, criatividade e ação é essencial na construção de futuros mais justos, sustentáveis e inclusivos. Afirma ainda o ensino e a investigação em artes como forças fundamentais na promoção do bem comum, contribuindo para práticas artísticas e pedagógicas comprometidas com a igualdade de género, a ética e a transformação social.
Convidamos o público a entrar não apenas para ver, mas para permanecer atento, escutar, sentir e envolver-se em outras formas de convivência e criação coletiva, ensaiadas neste espaço como laboratório de experiências partilhadas. Aqui, a arte abre lugar ao encontro, à imaginação e à reinvenção do coletivo, ao serviço do bem comum.
This exhibition brings together works by students within the framework of “Cabaz Digital: Multimedia Laboratories for Gender Equality”, an arts-based research project developed by the Centre for Art History and Artistic Research of the University of Évora (UÉ), which integrates gender, research, and teaching. Students from the Department of Visual Arts and Design of the School of Arts at the University of Évora participate, as well as students from partner schools such as Montemor-o-Novo Secondary School and Gabriel Pereira Secondary School, in a space where learning, thinking, and creation intersect.
This project brings together multimedia art, research, and education from a feminist, inclusive, and intersectional perspective, aligned with European strategies for gender equality and the digital transition. Education is positioned as a structuring axis, not only as the transmission of knowledge, but as the development of critical, participatory, and experimental pedagogical contexts oriented towards reflection, creation, and action. Through collaborative artistic practices, creation becomes a space for listening, analysis, and transformation, in which gender equality, the prevention of violence, and digital empowerment are addressed as continuous and interdependent processes. Within this framework, arts education is affirmed as a field of research and knowledge production, fostering connections between forms of knowledge, lived experiences, and situated contexts, in close engagement with the community. Between the university, schools, and society, networks of collaboration are established through which creative practices circulate, are shared, and extend beyond the exhibition context.
The laboratories presented here explore art as a critical tool for research, making visible structures of inequality and opening up space to reflect on and experiment with more just, egalitarian, and non-violent ways of living together. In LAB 01 / Home Things Belong to @ll of Us and LAB 02 / It’s Not a Boy or Girl Thing, the domestic sphere is re-signified: objects, gestures and everyday images become material for questioning gender stereotypes and the often invisible forms of violence that sustain them. In LAB 05 / Transit Roads for Gender Equality, LAB 06 / Steps to Equality and LAB 07 / At School Only the Heart Beats, image and sound move from the school into the street, occupying shared space through signs, words, and interventions that activate attention, awareness, and reflection within the collective space and the community. LAB 08 / A Mural and Recipes of Art for Peace frames collective creation as a gesture of encounter, where art becomes a shared construction of peace and care. LAB 09 / Traces and Echoes of Women Media Art Pioneers brings forward the voices and images of pioneering women artists, where body, sound and technology intersect and extend into interactive practices, opening space for participation and experience.
The project also expresses an active trust in younger generations, whose capacity for reflection, creativity, and action is essential in building more just, sustainable, and inclusive futures. It further affirms teaching and research in the arts as fundamental forces in the promotion of the common good, contributing to artistic and pedagogical practices committed to gender equality, ethics, and social transformation.
We invite the public to enter not only to look, but to remain attentive, to listen, to feel, and to engage in other forms of coexistence and collective creation, rehearsed in this space as a laboratory of shared experiences. Here, art opens a space for encounter, imagination, and the reinvention of the collective, in the service of the common good.
